The Spin

Republican narrative

Though this bill is unlikely to go anywhere as Democrats have a majority in the Minnesota Senate as well as the governor's office, this push to recognize the Trump derangement syndrome as a major mental health issue may inspire others to do the same. After all, there's plenty of evidence that this syndrome is real and has dire consequences.

Democratic narrative

While Republicans continue to claim that anyone exercising free speech to tell them something about Trump that they don't want to hear — such as stressing his autocratic tendencies — has a Trump derangement syndrome, it's their inability or refusal to see Trump clearly that is the actual derangement.
