Eliminating collective bargaining for two-thirds of federal workers represents the biggest attack on workers this country has ever seen, stripping nurses, firefighters and law enforcement of fundamental organizing rights. Federal unions protect workers from retaliation and ensure fair treatment, and the government should model high-road employer practices instead of normalizing union-busting tactics.
Federal union bosses wielding monopoly-bargaining power have systematically obstructed accountability and enabled misconduct across agencies, from protecting abusive prison guards at FCI Dublin to blocking implementation of the VA Accountability Act. Stripping these privileges from agencies with national security missions allows management to finally operate effectively and protect Americans.
