There can only be peace between Lebanon and Israel after Hezbollah disarms. The Iran-backed terror group has worked to destabilize Lebanon and provoke Israel. Israeli strikes have targeted Hezbollah's military infrastructure, which it agreed to abandon. Indeed, the Lebanese government must take responsibility for Hezbollah's violations of the cease-fire and disarm the group.

The United States and Israel's primary goal is to force Lebanon into an uneven normalization agreement with Israel, but their efforts will only provoke further resistance. The Lebanese government should avoid any talks with Israel that aren't strictly focused on ending Israeli violations of the cease-fire and the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory.
