Judge Allows White House Ballroom Construction to Continue

Is Trump's ballroom a cost-free continuation of a presidential tradition, or an unprecedented monument to corruption and executive overreach?

The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

Presidential authority over the White House has been rightfully affirmed, as yet another frivolous Democratic lawsuit attempting to block Trump's privately funded ballroom construction has been blocked. This project follows a long tradition of presidential renovations and Democrats are just trying to stop it because they can't stand Trump's victories and are desperately trying to distract from their own failures.

Anti-Trump narrative

Trump demolished the historic East Wing without any public review process, treating the People's House as his personal property in what may be the most corrupt presidential act in American history as corporations and the ultra-wealthy have donated millions to curry favor. No president should be allowed to tear down portions of the White House without giving citizens the opportunity for input.
