The Spin

Republican narrative

While this ruling gives the DOJ only half of what it requested, it's still a win for common-sense Americans and New Yorkers. The Democrats only cared about Adams' alleged misconduct after he began enforcing immigration laws, prompting the former left-wing White House to try to put him in jail. Democrats are now learning that their dream of using illegal immigrants to win political power is over.

Democratic narrative

Trump loves corruption so long as it helps him. That's why, in the face of overwhelming evidence against Adams, the president made the mayor a quid pro quo offer, to which Adams graciously agreed and began enforcing Trump's immoral immigration policies. While Adams has already disgraced himself as a Trump stooge, the bright side is that the DOJ will no longer be able to hold future prosecution over his head.
