The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

The Smithsonian has become infected with a woke ideology that divides Americans based on race and promotes anti-American propaganda. Sajet's partisan political donations and rejection of pro-Trump artwork prove she's unfit to lead a taxpayer-funded institution that should celebrate American greatness, not tear it down.

Anti-Trump narrative

Trump's attempt to fire Sajet is an unprecedented assault on the independence of America's premier cultural institution. The Smithsonian's governance structure exists specifically to prevent political interference, and it's unlikely Trump has the legal authority to remove museum directors from this independent entity.
