As children starve in Gaza and Russia continues to lay siege on Ukraine, Trump's golf retreat to Scotland epitomizes his unsuitability for the office of president. Doing little to move the dial and ever focused on himself, Trump's meeting with a meek Starmer, unwilling to offend, was unsurprisingly disappointing and of little substance beneath the pleasantries.
Trump's Scotland visit is American diplomacy at its finest. Direct talks with Starmer on Gaza, trade, and immigration demonstrate serious engagement, making emphatic decisions on aid and sanctions, all while boosting the local Scottish economy. As Trump returns to Washington, he will do so refreshed, energized, and with a stronger hand than when he left.
