Trump has been clear from the outset that he is focused on peace in Ukraine. As such, the US needs partners who are equally committed to that goal. This is a temporary pause in aid to ensure that any support given to Kyiv is contributing towards that goal.
Pro-Ukraine narrative
Ukraine is profoundly grateful to the US and the American people for their support and commitment to Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians, as long as that peace is lasting and does not come at the expense of Ukraine's future security.
