U.S. and Russia have exchanged new ideas for Ukraine peace talks, Rubio says
PBS NewsHour1 day
While the U.S. understands that peace talks take time and patience, Washington is disappointed and frustrated with the amount of progress that's been made. Following talks with Russia's foreign minister, its position has been understood with more clarity so it is hoped that real advancements can be made in the coming weeks.
Russia remains committed to a peaceful settlement in Ukraine, as well as to diplomatic solutions to the number of other conflicts around the world. It's also committed to improving ties with the U.S. which could be achieved by reestablishing the functioning of bilateral diplomatic missions but also resuming direct flights between the countries.
