The Spin

Narrative A

Florent Montaclair deliberately architected this fraud by conjuring institutions, staging ceremonies, recruiting ministers, and deceiving Nobel laureates, but not any more. His deception has rightfully been called out and he's now being held to account.

Narrative B

It took years before Franche-Comté's academic world caught up to this hoax, and even then the work was done by a Romanian news outlet. Patient, unglamorous journalism has finally done what prestigious institutions, famous names, and solemn ceremonies never bothered to. All of this begs the question, does anyone know, or even care what happens in academia?
