Version 7.6.4
The IDF's security zone in southern Lebanon isn't defiance — it's a necessary defensive posture against an armed Hezbollah that openly rejects disarmament and ceasefire terms. Direct Israel-Lebanon negotiations are ongoing, and the IDF is holding strategic terrain to protect northern Israeli communities from further rocket and drone attacks. Withdrawing prematurely before a durable agreement is reached would hand Hezbollah exactly the foothold it needs.
Israel's military occupation of southern Lebanon is a war crime — mass displacement orders, no-return zones covering 6% of Lebanese territory, and wholesale destruction of villages violate the Fourth Geneva Convention. Even after ceasefire announcements, Israel expanded its buffer zone and barred civilians from returning home indefinitely. The international community must suspend arms transfers to Israel and demand its immediate withdrawal from Lebanese territory.
