Version 6.20.3
TrumpRx.gov delivers historic relief by forcing pharmaceutical companies to charge Americans the lowest prices paid anywhere in the world, slashing costs by up to 600% on medications like Wegovy and inhalers. After decades of subsidizing global drug markets while paying the highest prices, these most-favored-nation agreements finally end the exploitation of American consumers.
Launching a discount website means nothing when Medicaid gets slashed by $1 billion, and ACA tax credits expire, leaving Americans drowning in high drug costs. Real policy changes that expand coverage and negotiate prices systemwide are needed, not flashy websites that distract from gutted health care programs.
The website will primarily benefit uninsured Americans and those in high-deductible plans, as insured patients' co-pays are likely to remain cheaper than the cash prices offered through TrumpRx for many medications. Moreover, imposing foreign price controls could undermine American leadership and hurt patients and workers. It's also questionable whether the confidential agreement details would substantively address U.S. drug pricing.
