Have the awards become too political or were artists just echoing a wider sentiment?

The Spin

Anti-Trump narrative

Following ICE's killing of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, the anti-ICE sentiment that's felt strongly across the U.S. was center stage at Sunday's Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. It's no surprise that these artists would stand in solidarity with the wider public in condemning the excessive and violent overreaches of Trump's government.

Pro-Trump narrative

The Grammy Awards show has become so bad and political that it's become unwatcheable. The jokes about Trump were also factually incorrect so Trevor Noah better start getting his facts straight and getting them straight immediately. Otherwise, it looks like Trump's lawyers will be suing for defamation with costly damages.
