Russia-Ukraine

On Monday, Ukrainian Pres. Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with UK PM Rishi Sunak in London,after which Britain and the Netherlands agreed to build an "international coalition" to assist Kyiv in acquiring US-made F-16 fighter jets, which Washington on Friday signaled it would allow.On Tuesday, Russia continued its wave of strikes in Ukraine, claiming to have destroyed a US-made Patriot air defense system.This came as the US Pentagon announced on Thursday that it had overestimated how much military aid it has sent to Ukraine, allowing it to send more weapons without permission from Congress.On Wednesday, Turkish Pres. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced an extension to the Ukraine Black Sea Deal, which allows Ukraine to transfer grain across the region.Meanwhile, as the war approaches its 15-month mark, leaders worldwide urged the two nations to reach a peace deal,with Zelenskyy holding talks with the Group of Seven (G7) on Saturday.

World Politics

The G7 summit kicked off in Hiroshima,the US and Micronesia agreed to renew a strategic pact,the US and Taiwan reached a trade agreement,former British PM Liz Truss visited Taiwan,Japan and the UK renewed security ties,and Canada's PM Justin Trudeau made an official visit to South Korea.Meanwhile, South Africa's army chief visited Moscow for bilateral talks,Syria was welcomed back into the Arab League,Turkey's presidential election went to a runoff,after which the country's opposition questioned its fairness,and Ecuadorian Pres.
