Security Council decided to renew its peacekeeping mission in Lebanon for one last time.Meanwhile, Russia launched an attack on Kyiv,the U.S. reportedly offered air and intelligence support to police Ukraine's post-war security,and Hungary sued the EU over a decision to use the interest from frozen Russian assets to fund aid for Ukraine.This comes as all 32 NATO members were projected to meet their 2% defense spending goal,Germany approved a voluntary military service bill,and a Polish pilot was killed in an F-16 fighter jet crash during an airshow rehearsal.In other news, the U.S. Pentagon announced it would no longer allow Chinese coders to work on defense systems,Venezuela deployed warships along its coast,and 33 Colombian soldiers were released after a three-day kidnapping.

World Politics

A U.S. court ruled that Trump's global tariffs are illegal,as his 50% tariff on India took effect,Japan's trade envoy canceled a trip to Washington,and Australia partially suspended postal services to the U.S.,as Washington ended a global tariff exemption on shipping packages under $800.In other news, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met for the first time in seven years,North Korea's Kim Jong Un and Russia's Vladimir Putin agreed to meet Xi in China,Trump met with South Korean President Lee Jae-Myung,Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra was removed from office,and former South Korean First Lady Kim Keon-Hee was indicted on bribery charges.This comes as Trump hosted post-war Gaza talks,the U.S. revoked the visas of around 80 Palestinian officials,the U.K., France and Germany moved to reimpose U.N. sanctions on Iran,several European leaders attended Moldova's Independence Day celebrations,and French Prime Minister François Bayrou called for a confidence vote.Meanwhile, Australia expelled Iran's ambassador,France summoned its U.S. ambassador over a letter about antisemitism,and Denmark summoned its senior U.S. diplomat over an alleged Greenland influence operation.Elsewhere, a U.K. court overturned an order to close an asylum hotel,Reform U.K. unveiled a mass deportation plan,the European Central Bank said migrants are essential to economic growth,and Cambodia passed a law allowing the revocation of citizenship.

Trump reportedly named Jim O'Neill as acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Preventionafter firing Director Susan Monarez,Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook filed a lawsuit challengingher attempted dismissal,and dozens of Federal Emergency Management Agency staffers were suspended.Meanwhile, Trump said he will issue an executive order mandating voter identification,Iowa Republicans lost their supermajority in the state's senate,former Vice President Kamala Harris' Secret Service protection was revoked,Trump threatened to sue California over its redistricting plans,and two civil rights organizations sued Texas over its new congressional map.In other news, a judge blocked the deportation of suspected MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia,Trump ordered the establishment of National Guard units for domestic law enforcement,and the White House warned of funding cuts unless dozens of states remove transgender content from their school materials.This comes as the Trump administration sought the Supreme Court's intervention in a dispute over the disbursement of billions of dollars of foreign aid payments,a whistleblower alleged that the Department of Government Efficiency uploaded social security data to a cloud server,and Trump's lawsuit against all 15 of Maryland's federal judges was dismissed.

Two children were killed in a shooting during Mass at a Minneapolis Catholic school,and Trump sought the death penalty for all D.C. murder cases,as he signed an order to end cashless bail policies.This comes as Sinaloa cartel co-founder "El Mayo" pleaded guilty in New York,an Israeli official charged with luring a child online for sexual conduct missed his Nevada court hearing,and two police officers were killed in a shooting in Australia.Meanwhile, a report found that U.K. sex crime convictions have risen faster among foreign nationals,Scottish police warned people not to spread misinformation following the arrest of a minor on weapons charges,and former Ukrainian parliament speaker Andriy Parubiy was shot dead.

Business

Nvidia's second-quarter revenue beat expectations at $46.7 billion,Elon Musk sued Apple and OpenAI over alleged anticompetitive behavior,and China's Evergrande delisted from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The U.K.'s energy bill price cap was increased by 2%,and a record 6.5 million Britons were found to be on jobless benefits.
