Former Democratic Party Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard officially endorsed Republican Party candidate and former Pres. Donald Trump at a National Guard conference in Detroit, Mich. on Monday.
Gabbard, who served in the Army National Guard in Iraq before entering Congress from 2013-2021, left the Democratic Party in 2022. She describes her former party as an "elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness."
The former Hawaii representative, who ran for president in 2020, had already been enlisted by the Trump campaign to help with debate preparation. She has experience debating Trump's opponent, Vice Pres. Kamala Harris, having done so during the 2019 Democratic primaries.
