Israel's reported plan to move Palestinians to a large camp in Rafah is both unrealistic and immoral. The Arab states, which will likely play a critical role in rebuilding and administering Gaza after the war, simply won't accept the further displacement of Palestinians. Both sides need to make concessions so that the ceasefire can be fully implemented and the hostages are returned.
Israel, once again, is suggesting a bold plan to destroy Hamas while avoiding harm to the civilian population. With the terrorists isolated in deserted pockets, Gazans will be able to receive aid free from Hamas rule. Furthermore, Palestinians will have the option to leave Gaza, as it would be inhumane to force them to live among the ruins of the strip. Though there has been resistance to the plan both within and outside Israel, building a humanitarian city would be an effective way to defeat Hamas in the long term.
If Israel's genocide in Gaza was not already obvious, the country's leadership is now proposing building a massive concentration camp to facilitate the ethnic cleansing of the strip's population. Indeed, Israel continues to demonstrate that it seeks to destroy the Palestinian people and take their land, yet the world remains silent.
