The Spin

Left narrative

Mario Guevara’s arrest was unconstitutional from the outset — he was targeted solely for exercising his First Amendment right to report on law enforcement. Courts dropped charges and even granted bond, yet ICE refuses to release him. This unlawful detention is retaliatory, suppresses the free press, and reflects a tyrannical abuse of power by the Trump administration.

Right narrative

Mario Guevara, a non-citizen who has long enjoyed the privilege of living in the U.S., was arrested not for journalism but for obstructing officers during an unlawful assembly. The left-wing press, which is silent when conservatives are suppressed, portrays him as a martyr while ignoring violent attacks on ICE, emboldening agitators and fueling hostility toward law enforcement.
