The Spin

Pro-establishment narrative

The strikes are necessary military action to protect international shipping and degrade Houthi capabilities that terrorize the country and threaten regional stability. The port facility was being used to fund terrorist activities, and U.S. forces attacked it to cut off critical resources from militant operations. Military action will continue to pressure Iran and protect vital maritime corridors.

Establishment-critical narrative

These attacks are a flagrant violation of Yemen's sovereignty and deliberately target civilian infrastructure crucial for the Yemeni people's survival. The strikes killed innocent port workers and paramedics, proving that the U.S. is supporting Israeli actions in Gaza intended to cause civilian casualties. However, Houthis will not be deterred, and will not allow such crimes to pass without painful punishment.
