This abandons 250 years of criminal justice procedure and will absolutely make future victims afraid to come forward, all for cheap political posturing disguised as transparency.

The DOJ successfully released millions of Epstein files with clear protocols protecting victims while ensuring no notable individuals or politicians were redacted from public view. Over 500 attorneys worked to err on the side of transparency, redacting with almost perfect success only victims and their families, while exposing the powerful. The release includes everything responsive to the Act, delivering the accountability and full transparency that survivors and the public demanded after years of incomplete and heavily redacted files.
Cynical narrative
Violating victim privacy is horrendous, but it's only the latest example of the government showing its complete disregard for the truth and justice. If the DOJ were to expose the sexual predators found in these files, it would also have to expose how Epstein used these abusers to further his agenda of blackmail. Epstein was a perverted tool in the toolbox of U.S. and Israeli intelligence agencies, which means if the DOJ pursues justice for sexual abuse victims, it'll have to go after the very governments it reports to.
