Kamala Harris was officially
chosen to be the Democratic presidential nominee,as a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll
placed her one point ahead of Donald Trump in the race to the White House, and North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer
dropped off Harris' list of potential running mates, with her vice presidential candidate

found that most Republicans would prefer a president under 75,prison reform advocates
urged Harris to drop her "tough on crime" rhetoric, and X
suspended and then reinstated a pro-Harris account.Meanwhile, Trump
defended prior comments made by his running mate, JD Vance, the former president
agreed to sit for an interview with the FBI to discuss the recent attempt on his life, and the director of the Heritage Foundation's 2025 Presidential Transition Project
stepped down.In other news, Pres. Joe Biden
called for sweeping reforms to the Supreme Court,Senate leader Chuck Schumer
challenged SCOTUS' recent immunity ruling, illegal border crossings
dropped to their lowest since 2020,and Jeff Zink
won the GOP House primary for Arizona's 3rd Congressional District.
